Context
The people behind the TripsWithBenefits project were looking to create the perfect service for travelers from all over the world to find buddies who share their passion.
Essential features included being able to search for users with the same travel preferences, the ability to share messages, photos and stories via chat and features to organize trips together.
Features
Users can use a web app or mobile app to register and log in via email or their existing Facebook, Apple or Google accounts. Users are initially invited to complete their profiles, upload photos and outline their travel plans.
They can also search for trips (suggested by other members) and for members themselves (geographical and physical criteria in particular). Users can save other members as favorites.
Members can contact other members they are interested in via chat and messages.
Users get notifications when there is a new chat or they are added to someone else’s favorites.
A web-based interface lets the app creators manage the solution and view key statistics.
Solution
Solstys developed the mobile app using cross-platform technologies (Ionic Framework, Capacitor, Angular etc.) to optimize development time and costs.
The website was built with WordPress, while the web app was developed using the latest version of Angular.
The following third-party technologies have also been integrated: Firebase for notification management in particular and Elastic Search for real-time search queries.
The development architecture and database structures were designed by Solstys, taking into account the future development anticipated by the project owners (multilingual, audio and video chat, etc.).
